Services

Individual Counseling

I primarily work with adults (18+) and have experience with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, and relationship struggles. I identify as a person-centered counselor, which means I regard the client as experts on themselves. I view my role as that of walking alongside clients during times of struggle - offering space, perspective, reflection, and support.

Couples Counseling

I have experience working with a variety of couples, and aim to provide a calm setting where clients can feel encouraged to increase communication and intimacy. At times, I integrate tools from the Gottman Method to help facilitate growth; my goal is help couples navigate the complexity of their relationship and ultimately figure out what’s best for them.

Telehealth

Telehealth is a great option for those who live outside of the Sioux Falls area, or who find it difficult to attend in-person sessions for other reasons. At this time, I only offer Telehealth for individual sessions (not couples). Additionally, I can only provide Telehealth services to those physically located in the state of South Dakota at this time.

A note on establishing a sense of safety…

The counselor-client relationship is shown to have the greatest impact on therapy outcomes. To foster a strong therapeutic relationship, I do my best to:

  • hold an open-minded, nonjudgmental approach.

  • tailor therapy to your individual needs.

  • create space for collaboration and client feedback.

  • not discriminate on the basis of age, ancestry, color, creed, disability, relationship status, national origin, parental status, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.

  • not engage in dual relationships outside of the counseling space; I acknowledge and respect the boundaries required to maintain therapeutic effectiveness and minimize potential client harm.

  • strive for your best interest over my own, including referring you to a different therapist if we might not be the best fit to work together.

  • as is required of all therapists, hold your privacy sacred. I don’t ever reveal information about my clients outside of the office and take all reasonable measures to protect your privacy whenever information is transferred digitally (email, scheduling, and credit card processing).
