I graduated from South Dakota State University in 2012 with a BA in Graphic Design, and minors in Art and Journalism. I worked in and around the marketing/advertising field for eight years before pursuing graduate school in 2020. From there, I earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Dakota in 2023. I have since become a Nationally Certified Counselor and have recently gained licensure in the state of South Dakota.
During my Practicum experience, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students to explore a variety of topics such as anxiety, depression, relationships, and identity development. Beyond that, I interned at a local agency that specializes in issues such as domestic violence and sexual assault. Here I gained experience with trauma, coping skills, and safety planning; I also co-facilitated groups at this time. Post-grad, I worked for a group practice where I gained more experience with individuals and began working with couples. I also have many years of experience as a client myself, and value the insight and perspective that gives me when providing counseling services.
Iām currently pursuing my LPC-MH and am under the supervision of Jennifer Wiese, LPC-MH, LAC, QMHP, NCC.
